3 Day Outback Adventure from Coober Pedy
DAY 1.
After pickup, you will fly over the spectacular sights of the colourful Outback on the way to Mount Eba Station, a working sheep and cattle station located in the geographical centre of South Australia. After a home made morning tea, you will enjoy an expert guided tour of the station, including the shearing sheds and sheep yards, while learning about the Station’s fascinating history.
After departing Mount Eba, it is a short hop to the pristine Anna Creek Painted Hills. Forming over 130 million years ago, this truly unique, unblemished 30-kilometre stretch of land is the only physical example of ancient glaciation that is known on Earth. Upon landing at the Anna Creek Painted Hills, you will take a guided tour through these spectacular mounds of sandstone, which gives you the opportunity to truly appreciate the fragility of this dramatic landscape. This is truly a unique experience, unrivalled anywhere else.
Leaving the Painted Hills, you will then fly to William Creek where you will spend 2 nights at the iconic William Creek Hotel. Approaching sunset, canapés and a complimentary bottle of wine will accompany you on the William Creek Ridge while you watch as the orange glow fills the desert sky.
DAY 2.
Departing William Creek at daybreak, a full day of adventure awaits. Flying to the first stop, Oodnadatta, you will be taken by a local resident on a ground tour of Australia’s hottest town. After experiencing the sights of this truly unique Outback Town, and a stop at the air-conditioned Pink Roadhouse, you will travel over Cattle Country until you reach Mount Dare on the fringe of the Simpson Desert. Located just 10km from the Northern Territory border, you will enjoy a hearty pub lunch in the ‘real outback’.
After lunch, following the edge of the Simpson Desert, it is a quick hop to Dalhousie Artesian Hot Springs where you can swim, relax and soak in the largest thermal ponds in Australia.
The day is far from over as you depart Dalhousie to view Kati Thanda Lake Eyre, Australia’s largest salt lake. Similar to Uluru, as the sunlight glistens off Lake Eyre, the salt erupts in an array of colours. As the light glistens off the salt, a view similar to that of a diamond shimmering in the light is created. After exploring the lake, and upon return to William Creek, you will be able to unwind and relax as you enjoy a complimentary drink under the stars...
DAY 3.
After enjoying a complimentary breakfast, Mayor of William Creek, Trevor Wright, will give you a grand tour of the entire town highlighting the origins of iconic William Creek. You will hear about the origins of the Old Ghan Railway, the overland Telegraph Line and how William Creek became what it is today.
You will also have the opportunity to meet the Wrightsair Team.
After lunch at the renowned William Creek Hotel, your pilot will drop you back to Coober Pedy.
